The holiday season is here and it’s time to let loose. And what better way to release all the tension built up over the year than celebrating in magic Miami!

But as the booze runs dry and the sun rises, what goes up, unfortunately, must come down. For as long as people have been drinking too much, they have been looking for a cure for the agonizing hangover that follows.

Some say its raw eggs with Worcestershire sauce, others drink iced coffee or devour a greasy brunch. Many get over a fierce hangover by going back to the root cause, and have another drink!

So pop some Advil, here we have a few tips to ride out your hangover and recover in Miami.

Big Pink

157 Collins Ave

For those who feel a big brunch is in order, you can’t go past the Big Pink. Ease your pounding head by entering a food coma. The seriously massive menu should clue you in on the belly-busting portion sizes. There is something to cure every craving, including wraps, burgers, salads, smoothies and a huge selection of beer! The chicken waffles will surely help get you over any hangover! If you are with friends order a few different plates and share between the group, the meals are so big!

Bodega

1220 16th St

Cure your post-binge wooziness with some tasty tacos, guacamole and chilled beer in this open-air Mexican street food hot spot. The menu is the brainchild of Chef Bernie Matz, a self-proclaimed “connoisseur of the taco.” Having traveled extensively throughout Mexico he has brought back the best of the culinary diversity for his restaurant. If you really need something to take the edge off the Bodega has a variety of tequila shots and cocktails. Sit back, relax and enjoy the funky environment.

Shake Shack

1111 Lincoln Road

There is not much a delicious burger can’t fix. And the ShackBurger is no exception! A single or a double topped with lettuce, tomato and the famous ShackSauce is sure to do the trick. There is also a great selection of locally brewed beer to help you through. Sit outside and relax under the large umbrellas surrounded by lush water gardens and shaded by 50-year-old oak trees.

For those of you looking to disconnect, Miami has some amazing natural treasures to help you recuperate. Start with a relaxing beach walk and wiggle those toes in the sand. Just blocks from WPH sit and soak up the sun. There is nothing better than a fresh ocean swim to cure your hangover!

Miami Beach Botanical Garden

2000 Convention Center Dr

A quiet spot at Miami Beach Botanical Garden is also an ideal cure! With 2.6 acres of green gardens, ponds and open space, it is the perfect place to dull a pounding head. Have a picnic under the blooms of over 100 different species that make the garden one of the Miami’s most biologically diverse. It is free to enter, check open hours on its website.

Venetian Pool

2701 de Soto Boulevard, Coral Gables

If you are game enough to venture out of Miami Beach, the iconic, spring-water-filled Venetian Pool is a fabulous place to disconnect in a little nook and allow your hangover to pass. The pool, in Coral Gables, was built in 1923 from a coral rock quarry and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Fed by natural springs, the pool features two waterfalls to relax under and many shady spots to dry off and chill out. Visit the website for rates and opening hours.
